Aletha Carr

I am a hunter and a gatherer of the lost and forgotten. These assemblages of discarded objects are a subliminal reminder of our collective history, and observing them is an act of remembering and re-interpreting, an admittance that every detail can have meaning. I am a curator of time, but you, the viewer, are the artist.

Aletha Carr was born, raised and educated in northern Florida, and received her Master of Fine Arts degree from Florida State Universitywith an emphasis in painting. She has been a resident of Tennessee since 1994 and taught there for several years on the college level. Her work has been exhibited throughout the Southeast and is in

many private and corporate collections (including the Bank of America and Delta Airlines). Aletha lives and works in Spring Hill, Tennesse.
